If you need an engineer to provide design services on cold-formed steel framing (CFSF), this is the best place to start. Use this feature to search our database of CFSEI members that have informed us that they are registered professionals. Most are registered P.E. (Professional Engineer) or S.E. (Structural Engineer); and there are a couple that also have architectural registration. Members that are not P.E. or S.E. are also included in the list if they have registered for CFSEI membership. Once the search listing appears, click on the icon to see a full listing for that member, including states where registered. If you are looking for a broader search of the industry, including builders, architects, suppliers and developers using steel framing, consider using the member search function at www.steelframing.org, which includes both CFSEI and non-CFSEI Steel Framing Alliance members.
Note that the listing of someone in the ENGINEER FINDER does not by any means represent a certification or approval by the CFSEI that the individual is qualified to perform engineering in any specific area. All information listed has been supplied by the member, and the CFSEI does not perform verification checks. As when contracting for any type of professional services, we suggest you verify information and ask for references. The CFSEI does not provide referrals; we make this ENGINEER FINDER available to the public as a free service.
Using the search engine is straightforward and easy as 1, 2, 3.
Option 1: search by Keyword: The keyword can be anywhere in the information supplied: name, company name, city, street, even zip code. The ENGINEER FINDER will return all results that contain that word. For partial listings, use the percent (%) key either before or after the series of letters.
• acer% will return both Placer Lane and Lacerte Builders. • Letters and/or numbers can be entered • Entries are NOT case sensitive.
To use this option only, in the box next to “3. Define Search method,” select “Keyword Only.” Note that this is the default search method.
Option 2: Detail Search: The keyword search allows you to search in either all fields or one specific field. The detail search allows searches in only two fields: state, and specialty. Note that the state is the state of the address; NOT the state where the individual is registered. You can choose both a state and specialty, or just state or just specialty.
To use this option only, in the box next to “3. Define Search method,” select “Selections Only.”
Option 3. The final step gives you four options. They are permutations of whether or not the two searches above are used:
| Option |
“Search by Keyword” is considered |
“Detail Search” is considered |
| Keyword Only |

| Selections Only |

Note that for “Keyword AND Selections,” both the “Keyword” criteria and the “Selection” criteria must be met to return a result. For the “OR” option, if either criteria is met, the member will be listed.
