The Corrosion and Durability Task Group serves as a focal point for handling technical issues related to corrosion and durability aspects of assemblies containing cold-formed steel framing. The Task Group helps develop and maintain Steel Framing Alliance and CFSEI technical documents that deal with corrosion and durability issues. The Task Group serves as an advisory group to the AISI Committee on Framing Standards and provides technical guidance and review to section A4 on Corrosion Protection of AISI’s General Provisions standard. The Task Group also monitors industry research related to corrosion and durability to cold-formed steel framing and fasteners, and helps the industry develop and prioritize research projects involving corrosion and durability testing. The Task Group does not deal directly with individual questions concerning corrosion and durability but instead directs inquiries to SFA hotline 1-800-797-8335 or www.galvinfo.com, a web site and toll-free phone line dealing exclusively with the properties and performance of galvanized sheet products in construction applications. |
